Chapter 16

During dinner, I met with all of my friends, and we decided on sneaking up to Derik’s room to commemorate my birthday earlier. The girls and I went to get ready and headed toward the boy’s dorms. Chris found us there, and he showed us the way. We reached there without anyone noticing. I entered the room and I fought the urge to burst into laughs. Sitting across the room, was a guy reading a Naruto magazine, and beside him was an aquarium with a gold fish in it. He was the guy a saw on my first day here. He must be Derek’s roommate, I guessed. Finally taking my surrounding in, I noticed that Derek was lying on the bed watching TV, and there was a huge black bull lying in the far corner beside him. It had huge horns and was really scary. Just moments after we entered the room and took everything in that he noticed us.

“Hey guys, come on in.” he looked really relaxed. “Girls, this is my roommate, Owen. Owen, this is my sister Mia, and my friends, Gwen, Chris and Kayla.” Owen looked up for five seconds, nodded at us, and returned to his reading without a word. “Ok.” Derek said, annoyed with his roommate’s response. “Kayla, I think you never met Lili. Say hi Lili.” He nodded toward the bull. Lili looked at Derek as if he wanted nothing more than to kill him.

“Hello Lili, nice to meet you. Derek, I don’t want to be rude, but why did you named your bull with a girl’s name?” I asked curiously. Derek looked at the animal, as if hearing him say something and snorted.

“It’s kind of a joke. See, when I met him after the change, he was being really bad tempered, and very aggressive with everyone and everything. So I started to play with him, saying that if he didn’t act right and stopped being a jerk I would start calling him Lili.” He looked at the bull and started laughing as the animal raised and puffed up his chest at him as a challenge. It was really freaky, but Derek didn’t seem to mind, as he looked back at me. “He never stopped acting like that, so here he is, named like a sweet little girl.” The exact moment he looked at Lili, the animal charged us furiously. Before he could reach Derek he became a ball of light, the same way when Mia took Rin inside of her. But instead of Lili disappearing like Rin did, Derek kept him floating around.

“Now now Lili, if you will not behave I will have to lock you up and you won’t be able to join our little party. It´s up to you.” Derek said amused, he looked at his sister, as she started grinning.

“Lili, if you behave I will let Rin out.” Mia said. And then she looked at me. “They just love each other. And Lili is always taking care of Rin like a big brother. It’s really sweet.”She whispered only for me to hear. I barely could believe that a dorm could take a bull and a rhino inside at the same time, but who was I to judge?

Derek’s expression changed as he smiled in amusement at the light ball. “Ok, but no more attacking people.” and then Lili was back. He was looking very dangerous, but I trusted Derek to keep him in line. Gwen noticed me looking at them and smiled.

“Oh, guys, look, Kayla never saw an interaction like that.”She looked at everyone for a minute, and startled, returned her gaze toward me. “You had never seen anyone transforming have you?”
