- Girl – He said, while I was lied down on the rooftop – Life’s this thing. We cry, we laugh, and shit happens, I know, but you can’t just stay away from everyone and everything. Life’s a party, and you have to enjoy it.
His words made me start thinking about my life. Everything I did. And everything I didn’t. I’ve been disturbing everyone. I always was the reason why my mom cried every single night. And the reason my brother was a failed. And I was probably the reason why my dad left us. Now I understand that.
I was tired. I had already made my mind. Should it end up like this?
– Have you ever heard that Lana Del Rey’s song? –I said sitting on the ground, close to the roof edge – “Born to die”.
He didn’t say a single word. Just looked at me, searching for some explanation.
-You were right before. Life really is a party.
- Yes, yes it is. – His voice was trembling, but he was trying to not let it show his fear – Let’s go downstairs, they must be waiting for us.
I was taking steps back, until I got to the edge of the roof. He realized that, and tried to get closer to me.
- Life IS a party. – I said, and he looked at me again, but this time, there was confusion in his eyes – But, unfortunately, I wasn’t invited.
Soon after saying that, I jumped.
I jumped in the direction of the unknown. Of the evil most feared by all.
And while I was falling, for the first time in my life, I felt alive.
